NSW / VICTORIA BORDER CLOSURE –  UPDATE 1

The FTA and ACF wanted to update Australian cargo and forwarding organisations in relation to the NSW/Victoria border closer, which has now come into effect. The below is the FTA’s latest release:

We attended this morning’s NSW Freight & Logistics Advisory Council to receive a first-hand briefing from The Hon. Paul Toole MP, Minister for Regional Transport and Roads. It was evident from the meeting that Transport for NSW is working closely across government to ensure freight industry operators are able to keep the supply chain flowing through the temporary NSW / Victorian border closure.

Transport for NSW is encouraging road users to plan ahead as delays due to road closures and detours will be in place. Members are advised to keep up to date at — https://www.livetraffic.com/

Of the NSW / Vic border crossings, six have been prioritised as main crossings. These are:

  • Wodonga Place, South Albury
  • Hume Hwy, South Albury
  • Cobb Hwy, Moama
  • Newell Hwy, Tocumwal
  • Sturt Hwy, Buronga
  • Princes Hwy, Tambillica

Further information can be found on NSW Police Force page.

We understand that details on permits, special conditions for freight operators, other critical services and provisions for residents of border regions will be made available on the Service NSW site soon.
